DolceFugo Grand Summer Event 2012

DolceFugo.com has recently published a statement by the site owner Giovanni Ficca. In it Ficca announces the dates for the upcoming annual DolceFugo.com Grand Summer Sale. The statement can be found on the site.

Further, the statement sheds some light on the particulars of the two-week sale. By the way, the sale will open on July 15th and will end on the 29th. Several Spring and Summer 2012 designer clothing and accessories collections presently featured on the site will go on sale early morning of the 15th. Among them are men's collections by Armani, Versace, Prada and John Galliano. Likewise, much of women's wear and accessories will be reduced by up to 75%. All footwear from summer collections will be 50% off throughout the entire sale.

Ficca goes on to state that the Grand Summer Sale 2012 prices will be the same for all visitors without exception and there will be no preferential treatment for the site's loyal clients. This is different from many DolceFugo.com previous sales, when certain subscribers and repeat customers would get even better deals than the rest. "It has gotten to a point where new customers would not be able to take advantage of our offers because the special-treatment clients would have cleared the stock long before the sale is over" says Ficca.

A special section of the sale will be dedicated women's jackets to some remaining Fall and Winter stock from previous seasons. Designer clothes and shoes by such designer brands as Gucci, Versace, Prada, Cavalli, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana will, according to DolceFugo.com, be retailed at as low as one fofth of the original price, that is to say at 80% off.
This particular catalogue of previous season items is supposed to comprise jeans, sweaters, shirts and dresses as well as outer wear pieces for winter such as jackets, coats and winter footwear.

Further information can be found on the website http://www.dolcefugo.com.

FICO Divulges Similarities Among Top Credit Score Holders

RoadFish.com men's lifestyle and finance magazine today released their statement regarding FICO's findings about the common trends among consumers whose credit scores are higher than 785. Scores this high are among the highest in the country, and FICO found several similarities across the board in the habits of these consumers. RoadFish.com's take on this may help American consumers by highlighting some habits of high score holders that others can mimic by adjusting their credit practices.

Inman News recently reported that only a quarter of all people who possess credit scores possess a score above 785, which is considered having excellent credit. The newspaper stated that the Fair Isaac Corp. (FICO), the creator of the FICO Score, revealed some of the behaviors behind those consumers with the stellar scores, and some of those habits may come as a surprise. For instance, the Inman News article reports that the 50 million people who have a credit score above 785 are considered high achievers and share habits such as keeping low revolving balances, making timely payments, and possessing an average of seven credit cards (which includes accounts that are both open and closed.) Further, these consumers tend to carry balances on an average of four credit cards/loans.

RoadFish.com is happy to see these findings being displayed so that Americans can better understand the credit etiquette that it takes to maintain a good score. RoadFish.com's Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, "I think that there tends to be something of a misunderstanding about credit card use. Consumers seem to believe that avoiding credit card use can magically repair a score when the exact opposite is true. The fact is that the people with the top scores are not debt-free, and do not avoid using credit cards, but rather they have good practices when they do women's coats use their cards."
FICO's official press release reported that a third of "high achievers," or consumers whose credit score is above 785, carry balances over $8,500 (not including mortgage accounts.) Less than 1% of high achievers have an account that is past due, and 96% of these consumers have zero missed payments on their credit report. In addition, a fact that some might find surprising is that one out of every hundred high achievers has dealt with collections agencies which shows on their credit report, and another one in every 9,000 has come up against a bankruptcy.

RoadFish.com encourages its readers to diligently work on their score, because becoming a high achiever is a reachable goal. RoadFish.com's Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, "Earning a stellar credit score does take work, but it's not as out of reach as some people may think. Looking at the habits of these high-achieving consumers with great scores hopefully will make others realize that, hey, you can have one late payment and not be SOL. Or it is possible to recover from a bankruptcy or collections, and go on to have an excellent score. It takes an understanding of how credit scores work, and then the willingness to put in the time and effort to make sure you're on track."

In FICO's press release it reveals that many individuals with the highest credit scores in the nation rarely open new accounts, and on average their oldest account is 25 years old. These individuals are careful and selective about entering into new lines of credit, and they manage their existing debt in a responsible manner. Anthony Sprauve, a credit score advisor for myFICO, is quoted as saying, "Higher credit scores can be the key to achieving some of life's most important dreams: buying a new car, owning a home, putting a child through college, or taking a dream vacation. The good news is that by understanding and consistently practicing behaviors that can lead to high credit scores, anyone can become a FICO High Achiever."

Cat Teeth: 7 Natural Tips To Healing Cat Dental Problems

Your cat's teeth, and their care are vital in terms of keeping your cat healthy and preventing disease. Periodontal (gum) disease is the number one diagnosed problem in cats; by the age of three, 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease. Lack of healthy teeth and gums can lead to heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, stroke and even diabetes. In this article I will cover the cat teeth anatomy, the causes of dental disease, and the most important natural solutions to keeping your cat's teeth and gums healthy at home.

Cats start with deciduous (baby) teeth- similar to people. The teeth first erupt between the second to third weeks- at four months kittens start to lose these baby teeth, and gain the full number of 30 adult teeth by the ages of 6-7 months. Cat teeth are uniquely different from dogs; none of the teeth of cats have grinding surfaces. Cat's have evolved to eat meat, and not chew or grind plant material.

Most dental problems happen after the adult teeth have formed. Plaque, a thin coat of bacteria, accumulates on the teeth, then it progresses to tartar, leading to gum inflammation. Bacteria also grows under the gum-line, causing gum infection (gingivitis) which can lead to tooth loss if not treated. Other dental problems include broken teeth, which can show as being painful to chew. Tooth root abscess are infections which form at the tooth root; they can cause swelling under the eye. Cats are prone to a specific type of dental problem called a FORL (Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesion). This is equivalent to a cavity where the tooth decays at the gum line.

The signs of dental disease in your cat are similar to people. These include bad breath (halitosis), reluctance to chew, redness at the gum line and visible tartar on the teeth. In advanced periodontal disease the teeth are loose, and may even fall out. Some cats may be ill and quite sick if the bacteria from the mouth has spread to other organs, such as the heart or liver. Often in cats, a local area of teeth discomfort can be found when a small amount of pressure is placed on the gum line next to an inflamed area of gums. Cats will typically 'chatter' their teeth in response to this, usually meaning a FORL is present.

The big question then is what can you do? Fortunately there are many things, and I want to give you my most effective natural remedies.

Dental Diet. If your cat is to eat kibble, ensure that it is a dry kibble with larger pieces that have to be chewed. Some food companies now produce specific dental diets which will lower tartar buildup. They are more abrasive on the teeth and some contain an enzyme which lowers tartar formation. These foods are available at your local veterinarian.

Natural Diets. Raw meaty bones and windpipes, ( ie chicken necks) can help keep teeth clean. Cats splinte pieces of bone, and are at risk of obstruction, so do not give him bones. To rule out the risk of Salmonella (a bacterial infection), put the bones or windpipes in boiling water for 30 seconds first.

Brush. The best way to keep your pet's teeth clean is by brushing. Ideally this should be done daily, but twice a week is a good goal. Begin by rubbing your finger around your pet's mouth. Flavor it with tuna to make it enticing for your cat. A finger toothbrush can be used (it fits around the end of your finger). Use pet toothpaste, for if swallowed it will not upset your pet's stomach. Baking soda is another safe natural toothpaste. The electric toothbrushes are very effective and the long neck helps you get to the back premolars.

For cats with recurring gingivitis, lactoferrin can be helpful. The dose is 1/2 a 350 mg capsule daily mixed in syrup or baby food. Propolis is a product of honeybees and is an oral antiseptic. It is applied topically to the inflamed gums.

Vitamin C is used by many alternative practitioners for dental disease. It is an immune stimulant and helps the production of normal gum and teeth tissue. The starting cat dose is 100 mg daily. The starting cat dose is 100 mg per 10 lbs daily. If your pet gets diarrhea, lower the dose.

Plaque Off. This is a completely natural product which is suitable for cats. It is a special type of seaweed which has been found to have specific beneficial effects for oral care. It comes in a granulated form which is easily added to food every day. It is rich in natural iodine and contains important vitamins and minerals and is free from artificial colors, preservatives, gluten and sugar

There are a few herbs that can help your cat's teeth. Calendula lotion can be used to heal ulcers in the mouth and promote healing of damaged tissue. Chamomilia can be used to decrease kitten chewing, alleviating some of the signs of teething pain. Myrrh can be mixed with water and applied topically to the inflamed gum tissue to decrease gum inflammation.

Now you should be able to understand the importance of keeping your cat's teeth healthy, and recognize the signs and symptoms of dental disease in your cat. If you see red gums, visible tartar, bad breath, reluctance to chew, or a localized area of tooth pain then your cat likely has periodontal disease. There are many things you can b women's jackets e doing to prevent and natural treat your cat's teeth problems; the most important remedies include, specific diets, brushing, the use of supplements, and certain herbs for gum inflammation.

How A TCM Practitioner Will Diagnose Your Disease

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is getting a lot of attention nowadays and surprisingly, more and more people are using it to treat a wide range of illnesses. What's more intersting is that, TCM practitioners have different ways of diagnosing a disease. These are steps on how TCM practitioners diagnose diseases.

1. Visual Inspection
This process starts immediately as soon as the patient enters the consultation room. The TCM practitioner will check the patient's spirit while observing his short and long term body changes, face, hair eyes, nose, mouth, lips, teeth, gums, throat, ears, nails, ankles, wrists and general appearance or demeanours.

The short term body changes which need to be examined include skin changes, stiffness or weakness of the tendons as well as muscle changes. The long term body changes include hair loss, muscle issues, being overweight and weight issues.

Face colouration will also be checked and the hair will be examined as it is directly related to the blood or kidney jing. Meanwhile, TCM practitioner can determine the condition of the ancestral essence (jing) and spirit (shen) just by looking through the eyes of the patient. The nose is said to be related with the stomach and spleen. If there are discharges, the colour and quality of discharge can determine the condition of these organs.

Teeth are checked to identify issues with the kidneys while the gums are for the stomach. Meanwhile, the colour, discharge and skin tone of the ears can also help in diagnosing certain conditions. If the patient is suffering from stasis or any blood deficiency, it can be seen through his nails. The colour and firmness of the ankles and wrists can also help in determining the condition of the fluids in the body.

After the visual inspection, the practitioner will now proceed to interview portion.

2. Interviewing the Patient
The practitioner needs to ask several important questions to the patient to diagnose the patient's condition clearly and accurately. More often the not, the patient will be asked if it is his first time to undergo TCM consultation. The answers of the patient will be the basis for the treatment and best results are guaranteed especially when the patient gives honest answers.

3. Listening
The patient's voice is an excellent indicator of his condition. Breathing patterns, hoarseness of the voice and the sound of the voice are thoroughly examined by the practitioner to determine the patient's health condition.

4. Smelling
Odours can indicate health issues. For instance, chronic bad breath may signify stomach heat.

5. Tongue Diagnosis
Together with pulse diagnosis, tounge diagnosis are one of the most important TCM diagnostic tools. The colouration, size, coating, coat root, cracks, shape, body moisture and features of the tongue are thoroughly checked. The tongue is said to be directly located to various internal organs in the body and it contains a special connection with the heart.

The tip of the tongue represents the heart while the part behind the heart area represents the lungs. The edge of the sides of the tongue represents the gall bladder and the liver. Meanwhile, the centre of the tongue corresponds to the stomach and the spleen. Behind the central area lies the part which stands for the intestines, bladder and kidneys.

How Does A Normal Tongue Appear
Usually, a normal tongue has pinkish or light red colour which contains a light white coating. It is not too thick or thin and it doesn't have cracks. Also, it doesn't appear puffy or bloated and it has a smooth appearance.

After the practitioner has checked the general appearance of the tongue which includes its coatings, colour, cracks and spots, he will then take a look at the parts of the tongue which represent certain organs. The colour of the tongue is said to be related with the general functioning of the immune system, internal organs a fashion jackets online nd the blood health. The shape represents the flow of energy and body fluids.

Pulse Diagnosis- An Excellent Diagnostic Tool
Checking the pulse also helps in diagnosing certain health conditions. It can interpret a person's constitution which includes the Qi, blood, yin and yang. There are actually 27 pulse states and 6 positions for pulse diagnosis. Three of which are located on the left wrist and the other 3 are located on the right wrist.

What You Wear To Bed Is Reveling

Clothing can express a lot about your sense of self. From the conservative and neat to the funky and flashy, clothing can speak volumes about the way you feel and present yourself to the world on any given day, but when you?€?re at home and ready to go to bed things become a bit more personal.

Sure, what you wear to bed can vary based on where you are, the weather, whom you?€?re with and other factors, but most of us have our favorite way to make sleeping t fashion coats he most comfortable. This personal choice in how we like to slumber can reveal a lot about who we are during the waking hours.

So, what do you wear to bed?

For many people to answer to that question is nothing. That?€?s right, they like to sleep in the buff. After all, if you sleep in your birthday suit you never have to worry about any pesky clothing getting in the way of your slumber. You?€?re free to toss and turn all night without fear of waking up with a wedgie.

There are downfalls to this freeness however. Just imagine if you were sleeping in the buff and there was a fire or someone broke into your abode. Would you be able to leap out of bed totally nude and feel confident enough to take on these kind of crises? Those types of fears and concerns are enough to keep some people up at night, so they cover up.

The ones who chose to risk it all and sleep in only their blankets tend to be free spirited and not afraid of exposure (meant both literally and metaphorically). They tend to be confident and comfortable in many aspects of their lives that extend beyond being naked in bed.

Many men and women choose unisex sleepwear.

For those of you that like to wear something to bed, there are many different choices. From footsie jammies to silk neglig??es, men?€?s and women's sleepwear run the full gamut of personalities.

That?€?s right, they actually make footsie jammies in adult sizes! For some, they are a practical and warm favorite. Although you may picture a cute toddler running around in this classic bed time ensemble, there are plenty of people who are far removed from childhood sporting them at night.

What does wearing footsie jammies as an adult say about a person? It says that they are a child at heart and that they love to express their inner child without guilt or shame. They like to have fun, play games and are quick to laugh.

Then there are those who are not quite as whimsical. They prefer to sleep in the classic nighttime outfit, pajamas. When you picture sleepwear in your head, you?€?re likely to envision pajamas. They are usually sold as a two piece set with matching tops and bottoms. Pajamas are typically made of a comfy lightweight fabric and they can be long or short, cotton or flannel and are adaptable for any season.

Those who choose to wear this traditional attire tend to be conservative, conventional and practical. They are considerate of others and like to be appropriate at all times, in their appearance and they way that they lead their lives.

Then there are those who don?€?t really see the need for sleepwear, but don?€?t want to go to bed in the buff either. They like to sleep in their underwear. What does sleeping only in drawers say about a person? It can say that they have a tendency to be lazy. They prefer to take the easy way at all times, dislike making decisions and lead their lives in a happy go lucky fashion.

Women have many sleepwear choices.

From the classic pink women's pajamas to sexy lingerie, there is a huge and highly variable market of women?€?s bedtime clothing choices. Most women have their favorite bedtime staples.

Some women dawn the traditional nightgown or night dress when they retire to bed. Wearing this gramma-esque attire to slumber may indicate that that a person is somewhat plain and tends to choose comfort over beauty. They like to be at home and value safety and security above all else.

Many ladies love to buck the granny jammies and show off their sexy side in the bed. These women tend to wear baby dolls or negligees when they go to have some saucy slumber time.

Baby doll nighties are short slip-like dresses that are usually made of soft and sexy fabric such as silk or satin. Wearers of this attire tend to like to show off. They are confident, but can lean towards being childish and immature at times.

Men?€?s sleepwear choices tend not be as extravagant as the ladies.

Men's sleepwear is typically designed without much other than comfort in mind. While men can find Satin or silk pajamas to add a bit of flare to their sleepwear, they really don?€?t have the variety of choices that women do.

Men who choose wear exotic fabrics in the sack over the tradition cotton however, tend to be more in-tune with their sensual side. They are artistic and crave traveling to see the beauty of the world.

Many also consider men's bath robes a crucial part of their nighttime wear. Those who love to accessorize their bedclothes tend to be the protective type. They want to make sure that everyone is warm and happy. They like to love and tell stores and jokes.

While these personality types are not typical of all, looking into what someone wears to bed really can tell you much about them. After all, the choices we make in bed are often more telling than those we make in public.

Horse Games for Children

Do you remember when you would head home from the stables with straw in your hair, sand in your underwear from falling off and dirt all over your face? Ok, so some of us still do that now, but think back to when you actually used to be happy about it, proud to show off your latest bru fashion jackets ise to any person who would listen. These days, health and safety objectives make it difficult for children to have quite as much fun as we used to, but there are still a number of horse games that children can participate in without getting into too much trouble! (At least no more than muddy horse riding clothing!)

Fun horse games to incorporate into hacks include treasure hunts. Particularly effective with a group of children, you can stop somewhere, and providing you have reliable ponies, ask the children to get off and give them five items to find. This can be ideal for Pony Club badges training, as you can ask for things such as different varieties of wildflower or leaves from a certain tree. Alternatively, if you were feeling in the enthusiastic frame of mind for horse games, you could always go and lay "treasures" yourself in the form of sweets, or small items of horse riding clothing, such as pairs of gloves or horse themed socks!

Organising a gymkhana can be great fun for children, if you don't mind washing all the horse riding clothing that ends up in the mud! You need to be aware of the safety aspects of doing this, so unless you are experienced it's best to leave it up to someone else. There's no reason why you couldn't suggest it to your child's local yard, however, and that way you would have access to all the facilities and more children would get involved. Best horse games for gymkhana include races: Sack race, ride and lead, egg and spoon, are old-time favourites. A more original idea might be a race where you have to put on layers of horse riding clothing which are at opposite ends of the racetrack, for example, a roomy t shirt, then overtrousers, coat etc, you can be as inventive as you like! A variation of this exists as a party game, so you could incorporate horse riding clothing into that too, to give a party a horse theme.

Other horse games which could be incorporated into a gymkhana or fun day include musical poles, where the children have to find a pole for the horse to stand over when the music stops. Make the children aware of safety precautions to avoid ponies kicking each other, and everything ending in tears. Possibly threaten with elimination if the ponies' safety is not taken into consideration, as children tend not to perceive risk. A chase-me Charlie competition can be good fun and a challenge for competitive children, with ponies working individually and therefore potentially safer. This is where all competitors jump a fence which increases in height. When it is knocked down, that competitor is out. Of course, if you have mini "wannabe" showjumpers involved, you may like to set a height limit in order to prevent a scenario whereby parents are scared witless watching their children attempt to tackle 6 foot fences!

Ultimately with horse games, your only limit is your imagination. However it is essential to consider health and safety regulations at all times, as it is so much more common now to be accused of neglect. Ensure you provide a duty of care to all children taking part, starting with horse riding clothing. A current standard riding hat and gloves should be minimal protection at all times, and you may like to introduce other rules regarding horse riding clothing and conduct. Having taken these into consideration, you are left free to enjoy watching your children have fun, reminiscing about days gone by, when you had the guts to join in mad horse games too!

Building an Outdoor Storage Shed

Do not let the price of the units be the determining factor for you. Some shoppers see a low price and will not allow themselves to go any higher, even if quality is sacrificed.

The sheds built with the highest quality materials are typically only priced a couple of hundred dollars more than the one built of lower quality materials. A number like $300 may seem like a lot, but when you consider how much longer the material will last, it starts to look like a good investment.

Cedar and vinyl are typically the higher quality materials because they withstand the elements and aging the best. You want to keep in mind how the unit will look on your property.

The unit should complement the style of your house in terms of color and materials. There are many different styles that you can choose from, each very different.

If you have more of a country looking home you could go for a rustic designed shed like board and batten. If your house has a style that is more formal, select an outdoor storage shed wit women's jackets h formal features that match, like an arched window or ginger breading.

You can also integrate your outbuilding into the surrounding landscape. Plants can help outdoor storage sheds blend into a landscape, rather than sticking out like sore thumbs.

Open up and plant annual or perennial beds around your unit. You can also install trellises up against the walls of outdoor storage sheds and adorn the walls with vines.

Natural wood is considered by many the most attractive siding for storage units. But wood exposed over time to water usually rots, creating the need to replace the unit.

Some woods contain natural resins that make them relatively rot-resistant. Cedar is such a wood and very popular as a siding choice for the building, but even cedar siding is not maintenance-free.

You should coat cedar with a UV-inhibiting sealer/preservative every other year to protect it from ultraviolet solar radiation. Apply a clear stain, as well, to help preserve its natural beauty of the wood.

For maintenance-free storage units, vinyl is the preferred siding. The only drawback is that vinyl lacks the visual appeal of wood.

If you own a home with vinyl siding, a strong argument can be made for selecting a shed that is also sided with vinyl. Due to their susceptibility to rust, steel storage units should probably be avoided.

Among metal storage units, rust-free aluminum is usually the most sensible choice in siding. Metal siding is durable, you can paint it any color, and you do not have to worry about catching fire.

Particle board and plywood are composed of pieces of wood products that have been pressed and glued together. Although they are popular siding materials for sheds, they may not be able to stand the elements well.

If water seeps into particle board it can warm easily and completely ruin the exterior. If you are building your own shed, make sure you check with city zoning ordinances, deed restrictions, and building codes.

Building codes in some cities dictate how many storage units are allowed to be on a single property and how large they can be. It can also dictate what the unit can be made of.

You can purchase a pre-made storage building from your local home improvement store. You can choose from a large selection and then have it delivered to your home.

Make sure the entry to the outdoor storage building is wide enough to accommodate your largest piece of equipment with room to spare. So if you have a riding lawnmower, you need to be able to drive it through the doorway without any problems.

You should also make sure that there is room for all of your other equipment that you want to store in there. You do not want the unit to be too cluttered or else you will not be likely to go in there and find what you need when yard work needs to be done.

How to Prevent Diseases Passed From Animal to Human

Zoonoses is the term applied to a grouping of diseases that are transferable from canine/feline to human. Basically, these fall into three groupings based on their means of transmission. This also groups them, ideally,in the means of treatment and control. The three groupings are as follows - spread through:

1) urine or feces 2) hair and skin contact, or 3)bites and scratches.

Diseases Spread through Urine or Feces:

Hookworms

Hookworms enter the body in the area that directly comes in contact with the feces- contaminated soil. Seen more commonly in the South, these parasites are unsuited to ideally live in human beings.

Traditionally they die after crawling several inches underneath the surface layer of the skin. Inflammation usually occurs as a result of these parasites in humans and causes a condition called "creeping eruption" which may last several weeks or months depending on its severity.

Leptospirosis

Pets may come in contact with this through swimming, drinking, licking their fur, or by eating food contaminated with animal urine. Many animals may carry this, though rats are most often the culprit.

Symptoms in humans are flu-like including chills, body aches, vomiting, fever and headache. Sometimes kidney damage may occur or the membranes covering the spinal cord or brain may become inflamed. This disease is not usually fatal though it does make its host miserable for weeks at a time.

Roundworms

If these parasites are swallowed by humans they migrate into the body tissues and may cause damage, including symptoms of fever and liver enlargement which can last up to a year in length including symptoms of fever and liver enlargement which can last up to a year in length.

These parasites are most commonly found in small children(2-4 yrs. of age) who mistakenly swallow the eggs and become infected. Children playing in an area in which an animal has defecated in the past, who do not wash their hands after coming in contact with the eggs and inadvertently sticks their hands into their mouth are the most common receptors of roundworm. Only rarely fatal, the disease is traditionally mild though it may be long lasting.

Tapeworms

Tapeworms can easily be ingested by any pet who swallows a flea carrying the infected form when biting at or chewing their coat. Children may get it virtually the same way- minus the coat chewing. Tapeworm infestation in humans this way is actually quite rare when compared to infestation from eating undercooked pork or beef.

Toxoplasmosis

Rarely this may cause death in humans since most people develop a resistance to it during normal exposure. It can cause many types of birth deformities in children born to mothers who have been infected for the first time without having developed an immunity before becoming pregnant. Most commonly this is "picked up" through contact with infected cat feces or in contact with contaminated soil.

Prevention of Waste Transmitted Diseases

There are a few basic precautions everyone should take to prevent transmission of any of the fore-mentioned diseases. First, clean up all pet droppings and wash your hands each time you any come in contact with contaminated soil. It is extremely important to teach children these steps. Also, if your pet has gone wading or swimming in any water which may have become contaminated with animal urine, bathe it at once when you return home.

Diseases Spread through Skin/Hair Contact:

Fleas

Fleas prefer feeding on your pets though they will not turn up the chance of of making an occasional meal on humans as well.

Ringworm

Most commonly found in children(though anyone may be infected), this is caused by a skin/hair eating fungus which first appears on people as a round, red, scaly area. It grows outward in a circular formation and is the most common fungal disease currently reported.

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever

Tick borne, this disease can cause symptoms such as fever, chills and headache though it is not usually fatal. Symptoms may last many weeks and it can be treated with antibiotics.

Most commonly it is transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. Also, you may become infected while pulling a tick off your pet . It is best to wear gloves when removing ticks.

Scabies

The less commonly found version of mange(as opposed to the demodetic version), this may still cause intense itching, irritation and thickening of the skin. Animal mange may live in human skin though it cannot reproduce there. Humans have their own version of the scabies mite.

Prevention of Skin/Hair Contact Diseases

Overall, proper nutritional care and health of your pet is the best defense against the chance of your pet harboring any of these diseases. Frequent grooming and herbal repellents are good choices in combating most of these problems before they become major. Stress, roaming and contact with other pets are the three most common points of transmission among the previous diseases. Wash your hands after pet contact and minimize contact with any infected pet until the problem is cured.

Diseases Caused by Bites and Scratches

Cat Scratch Fever

Some people will develop a fever, enlarged lymph nodes and malaise near the area of a bite or scratch from a cat a few weeks after the occurrence. Though not fatal it can be very uncomfortable and can be followed by complications. Infected cat bites may become infected with an entirely different bacteria though the symptoms are similar.

Probably best, is to thoroughly wash an area bitten or scratched by a cat and to clean it liberally on a frequent basis to prevent, hopefully, infection.

Rabies

Virtually 100% fatal once the clinical symptoms appear, this disease is carried by a virus transmitted t fashion coats online hrough the saliva of an infected biting animal. Symptoms include frothing at the mouth, extreme behavioral/personality changes and convulsions which usually ends in the aggressive, staggering and bleary- eyed condition. If you happen upon an animal showing any of these symptoms, get away from it as quickly as possible and call your nearest animal control unit.

If by chance you are bitten, try to follow it to where it lives(if it is a stray)so that the proper officials may capture it for testing. If you do kill it, do not injure the head as this will be needed for verification. Also, if you are bitten by an animal exhibiting any of the symptoms above, thoroughly wash out the wound as quickly as possible and contact your personal physician. Overall, your chances of getting rabies are rare though you can never be over cautious.

Prevention of Bite and Scratch Transmitted Diseases

Best advice, keep your pet in tip-top physical condition through exercise and proper nutrition to reduce its chances of picking up any parasites from less healthy animals. Also, try to minimize your pets contact with wild animals or sick pets.

The Busy Background Of Brilliant Business Cards

The concept of a business card has been a powerful tool for companies and individuals for a long time. But did you know that during the reign of King Louis XIV they were being used? Or that early business cards were made out of copperplate? Here we look at business cards and how they have been developed throughout history to how they are used today.

Before business cards came around in business, trade cards were used in all parts of England during the 17th Century in London. They were used to advertise businesses and provide a map to the potential customer. As street numbering did not exist at this time, so the map on the trade card would be the only way people would fine a merchants store past chance.

This method of advertising soon became extremely popular as newspapers at this time were not particularly developed and some people could not read. The first types of these trade cards were printed on woodcut but by the 18th century they were engraved on copper plating. Up until the 19th century all trade cards were only done in monotones and with very simple tints. It wasn't until the growth of companies in 1830 that some coloured trade cards were available in Europe.

In the 19th century the distribution of newspapers was far better and made communication this way much more practical, so advertising within this media became far more popular. More businesses started using periodicals and papers than the trade cards as it was far cheaper so eventually the trade card industry began to be used less and less.

Visiting cards were also present during Louis XIV's reign and were known as 'Visite Biletes'. These cards were about the size of a playi women's coats ng card and users signed them with promissory notes and other little messages. Eventually these little cards ended up developing into greeting cards if they were not introducing individuals in all of their glory.

By the 19th century within Europe these 'visiting cards' had travelled further than the French courts and made their way to both America and Europe. Any middle class lady or gentleman was expected to have their own visiting card or calling card, in which usually they were decorated with coat of arms and advertised the individual.

America was slightly different from Europe in that there were two different forms of cards, either the visiting card which were used more in social situations for the upper classes. This gave proof that associates had met with introductions whereas the business card was used solely in all classes to promote business. Both men and woman had these cards yet if somebody used a business card in place of a visiting card it was considered very poor taste as a social visit was not meant to be a business opportunity. Often business cards left with servants indicated that you had called to a collect a bill.

Today business cards are used readily in order for people to be able to contact certain individuals within companies and the actual company itself. They allow for people to communicate with an associate and then give them a clear and concise way of contacting them again if they are interested in business. Today cards are often colourful and quirky to catch the eye of potential customers and leaving a business card on a social visit is no longer seen as inappropriate.

American Shorthair Cat and Kitten Information

The American Shorthair cat has a protective dense and thick short coat. They shed in the spring. Coat colors can range from brown, white, smoke, silver to calico. In fact, over eighty different colors are recognized. The most famous is the silver tabby, silver with dark black markings.

This is a healthy, hearty, solid built cat with agility and endurance. They have thick hind legs and a wide, deep chest. The head is oblong and the face is fairly wide. Their eyes are round and they come in various colors, the stand out being the silver tabby.

Health

Cats who reside in the house should generally visit the veterinarian yearly, unless health problems are evident. Cats who enjoy the outdoors may need to see the vet as many as four times a year. When you take your cat to the vet, be sure to bring along a fresh stool sample so the vet can do a fecal exam to check for internal parasites such as tapeworm, round worm, whip worms and hook worms.

The vet can also check for fleas, and you can decide on what to do about Heartworm. The vet should check for ear mites, and oral health. Decisions about vaccinations can be made at this time. Cats who are eight years plus are considered geriatric and additional blood and urine tests may be necessary to catch any health problems. At about six months of age, the kitten should also be examined for sexual maturity and decisions about birth control should be made.

History

The ancestor of all domestic cats is the African Wildcat, the genus Felis Lybica. This genus is comprised of smaller cats. Cats are thought to have been domesticated with the advent of farming and the storage of grain. The grain attracted rats and other vermin which naturally attracted wild cats. As time evolved, certain of these cats were domesticated for the mutual benefit of both cat and man. The African Wildcat has certain features which is obvious in the housecat of today.

The American Shorthairs are believed to have arrived in America about 400 years ago on ships from England. They are though to have been British Shorthairs. They were onboard the ships to control rats and help save the food supplies of the travelers. Over time bloodlines became diluted but were brought back by intense selective breeding.

Do we need Human Grade Dog Food? The signs say yes!

There are a number of reasons why dogs need a healthy natural dog food. Feeding a healthy natural or preferably even a human grade dog food can help your dog live longer, stay healthier and even resist infection and disease.

Let's take a look at the various parts of the body that can give us a signal about the state of overall health. The word 'symptom' is from the Greek word 'signal'. Symptoms are signs that the body is out of balance or attempting to heal. We need to determine exactly what symptoms are trying to tell us rather than trying to cover them up or suppress them. Suppressing symptoms can prevent the body from healing.

We will start by looking at the eyes. Take a look at your dog's lower eyelid. The color here can indicate proper assimilation of iron and other minerals. If they fashion coats are white or light colored, there is poor assimilation. The lids should be pink to red. Gums are also indicators of the proper use of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. If in poor condition and health, we will see loose teeth, bleeding, tarter build up, light color or white spots. Good healthy gums show no bleeding when rubbed and firm teeth. The gums should be dark in color. Your dog should not have bad breath! Feeding a good diet of human grade dog food will help keep eyes and gums in good shape.

The skin is the largest organ in the body and is an amazing indicator of overall health. Skin needs high quality protein, fatty acids and fluids. Without these, we see dry, flaky areas, 'hot spots', recurring infections and susceptibility to parasites. Good skin should be smooth and pliable. Check the elasticity of your dog's skin by pulling gently on it and observing how quickly it resumes shape. It needs to be elastic and firm.

If your dog's coat is dry, brittle and dull, it could mean his diet is filled with poor quality proteins and is deficient in fatty acids. A healthy coat will be soft, glossy and bright with minimal shedding. It is not normal for your dog's fur to always come out in clumps!

A great indicator of overall health is the energy level of your dog. Does your dog have boundless energy or does he seem to tire easily and acts generally lethargic? Dogs that appear hyper or overly nervous may be suffering from a poor quality diet loaded with preservatives and toxins.

Always pay attention to your dog's look and personality. Changes in either may be reflective of disease or early signs of other physical challenges. Weight change in particular can be especially significant and you should monitor your dogs weight regularly. Most dogs in America are over weight and this can not only interfere with your dog's quality of life but may shorten it dramatically as well. When you pat your dog your should definitely not feel nothing but skin and bones but in a perfect canine world you should feel their ribs through a well muscled ribcage.

Remember that a healthy diet is the cornerstone of good health for both humans and dogs. Feeding your dog a "Human grade", unprocessed dog food will provide high quality vitamins and minerals that are readily absorbed by the body. Dogs are people too you know! Alright, maybe not exactly people but your know what I mean and they definitely need high quality nutrition found primarily in human grade dog food to maximize their chance for long and healthy lives.

White Highland West Terrier Dog Breed Description, History, Grooming and Health Issues

Description: The White Highland West Terrier is a sturdy small dog. The head is in good proportion to the body, and when viewed from the front gives a pretty round appearance. This breed has a muzzle that tapers to the nose. The teeth are scissor bite. The White Highland West Terrier has deep-set, brown, almond shaped eyes that are set fairly wide apart. The ears are wide apart on top of the head and erect, these are triangular in shape. The legs are short, but not too close to the ground. In countries that permit docking, the tail is docked, if not the tail is still short at about five to 6 inches, it is a thick tail that tapers to a point. The coat is a double coat that is straight and around 2 inches in length, with a soft dense undercoat. The colour of the West Highland White Terrier should always be a solid white. The height of the dog is 10-12 inches and bitches 9-11 inches. The weight of the dog is 15-22 pounds with bitches, 13 to 16 pounds. This breed has a good life expectancy of 15 or more years.

History: The West Highland White Terrier comes from Scotland, from a place called Poltalloch and their original name was the Poltalloch Terrier. This breed came about in the 19th century, when a breeder of the Cairn Terrier called Colonel Edward Donald Malcolm had some white puppies in his litter, he decided to select the white puppies and use them to breed more white cairns. This was said to have been due to a sad accident that happened to his women's coats red terrier being shot by mistake as it was thought to have been a fox. This became popular as people sought the white puppies. This dog was first shown in the USA in 1906 and was quickly recognized by the AKC in 1908. The breeds' name changed to the West Highland White Terrier in 1909. This dog was bred originally as a working dog to control the population of rats that plague the farms and buildings. The West Highland White Terrier has been known to take on foxes, otters, and even the larger badger.

Temperament: The West Highland White Terrier is a hardy small dog, and gets on well with children. This dog is an excellent companion and this dog travel well. The West Highland White Terrier is easy to train and they have a great deal of self assurance in their personality. This breed needs a good pack leader, or they can become irritable and snappy, guarding food, and even biting. This dog loves to bark and dig and needs firm guidelines on what is acceptable. The West Highland White Terrier does show terrier instincts and will want to chase cats, but the fun is in the chase, and the cat should be unharmed. Small dog syndrome should be avoided as this will lead the dog to have behavioural problems. To prevent this you have to be the pack leader and have firm rules, for the dog to follow. This breed may be small but still requires walking daily and giving them play sessions will burn off the energy that they have. This dog, like most dogs loves to have a good romp off the lead in a safe area.

Health issues: The West Highland White Terrier is prone to hip problems and jawbone calcification, this is painful in puppy hood. Any puppy that has this, will need medical help, but this does pass at about 1 year. Liver disease and skin problems are also recorded. As with any dog it is very important that you make sure they are up to date on all vaccinations, de-wormings and heart worm preventatives. It is also suggested by the majority of licensed veterinarians that you take your puppy or dog in for a check up at least twice each year.

Grooming: The West Highland White Terrier is fairly easy to keep clean and tidy. All that is required is brushing regularly. The dog's coat will need trimming every four months, with stripping twice a year.

Living conditions: This dog is fine for apartment living and is active indoors and will do fine without a garden, but daily walks are still required.

Women Need Workout Routines For a Good Looking Posterior

Would you start doing exercises and workouts for your rear end if you could be assured of a sexy look when you were done? If your answer was yes, you're not a women's coats lone. An estimated 80 percent of women over 18 aren't happy with their bodies much less their rears. Most of them dream about the days of their youth or their younger days when they had that perfect or almost perfect, sculptured rear end that drove the men wild.

Eating Healthy and getting regular cardio activity will help to boost metabolism and lose weight. But, you need more than just those activities to help the drooping tail gate. Most of the women I know all have the misconception that training with weights will make the butt larger, but training the gluteal muscles will actually add shape it. When the buttocks starts to droop, the only thing that provides the pick-me-up you need is exercise. The increase in your body

The Collie Dog Breed Profile

Collies come in two different varieties, 'smooth' and 'rough.' Rough collies require much more grooming, but smoothes do need to be groomed regularly to keep their coats healthy. Collies have a double coat of hair, meaning there is a thick undercoat and an outer coat of thinner and flatter hair.

A smooth collie has shorter hair like that of a Labrador or Dalmatian. The hair is short and smooth with a thick undercoat. Rough collies have a long and flowing topcoat and a dense undercoat. You can keep your collie looking good, no matter what the variety, with regular brushing.

You'll need a pin brush, a slicker brush, a comb, scissors and a spray bottle filled with a conditioner spray. You can buy a commercial conditioner spray, or make your own using 1 to 2 tablespoons of dog conditioner diluted with water. Make sure it is diluted well or the spra women's coats y will make your Collie's coat greasy.

Make sure to spray your dog's hair thoroughly before you start to brush. Never brush a Collie's coat dry because it will break their hair. If you have a rough collie, part the dog's hair and brush from the roots out. The pin brush can be used if your dog is not shedding and is free of matting.

The slicker brush and comb are helpful for shedding dogs and for removing mats. If a mat cannot be brushed out of the Collie's hair, you can cut it out. Collies most often have matted hair behind their ears, underneath the front legs and on their underbelly so make sure to check those areas carefully. For a smooth collie, a slicker brush will suffice for both the undercoat and outer coat.

You should brush your collie everyday during shedding seasons, and at least once a week when they are not shedding. Regular brushing is important to remove the dead hair. If left alone, the dead hair will cause hot spots on your dog's skin.

Collies generally do not require all over trimming, but you might want to keep their feet trimmed. With a small pair of scissors, carefully trim the hair around each footpad.

This will keep your collie's feet clean. While you are working with your collie's feet, you can also trim the nails. This should be done every 1 to 2 weeks to keep the nails from getting too long.

If your collie is a puppy, you can train them to be used to a Dremel tool with a sandpaper attachment. Apply light pressure with the Dremel and grind down to just before the pink quick.

The alternative to using the Dremel is to use a standard dog nail trimmer. Before you clip the dog's nails, find the pink quick and cut just before that point. Cutting into the quick will make the dog's nail bleed. If this happens, styptic powder is helpful to have on hand to stop the bleeding.

Finally, remember to clean your Collie's ears about once a week. You can purchase a canine ear cleaner at any pet store. Squirt the ear cleaner into your dog's ear canal and then rub the base of the ear. This will help the ear cleaner coat the inside of the ear canal. You can use a cotton ball to remove the excess cleaner and then allow the ear canal to dry naturally.
